We have a great range of classic wood-fired pizza ready to put in the oven for an easy, quick dinner, traditional pizza bases you can load yourself and a fantastic gluten-free base in the freezer. 400 Gradi wood-fired pizzas are a staple in our fridges. They’re created from the highest quality ingredients and are made right here in Melbourne. You’ll find Margherita, Diavola and Romana in our fridges. Smokehouse pizza bases are also made in Melbourne and are perfect for creating your own pizza with your favourite toppings. We also have a great range of cured meats and cheeses so that you can create the best pizza in town! 🍓 Sam’s Market Update - 24th July 2024 🍓 🍓 Sam’s Market Update - 24th July 2024 🍓 We’re enjoying pumpkin this week, one of the most versatile vegetables you’ll find. Our farmer is very reliable and only picks the very best pumpkins. They are always picked ripe from the vine and have the best taste and texture. Butternut pumpkin is excellent value this week. If you’d like a whole butternut and there isn’t one on the shelf just let us know and we’ll get you one. Butternut pumpkins are a little sweeter than a grey or jap pumpkin. They’re pretty pale on the outside with deep orange flesh. Pumpkins are incredibly healthy vegetables full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Jap has a nutty taste and a deep orange flesh that is perfect for sweet or savoury cooking. Jap pumpkins are high in vitamin C, A, potassium and dietary fibre, and the seeds are a great source of Omega oil. Custard apples are eating well this week. Custard apples are juicy and full of flavour with sweet white, creamy flesh and a knobbly exterior. They’re a tropical fruit that isn’t exactly pretty look at, but their flavour and texture makes up for it. They have a sweet fragrance too. Pink Mammoths’ are very high in vitamin C and are high in fibre. They’re also anti-inflammatory and good source of iron, calcium and range of vitamins. Strawberries and premium raspberries are fantastic this week too! 🥝 Sam’s Market Update – July 17th 2024 🥝 🥝 Sam’s Market Update – July 17th 2024 🥝 Swiss brown mushrooms are great value this week at $5.99 per/kg Mushrooms are a powerhouse of vitamins and nutrients. They have a robust flavour and are perfect for slow cooking. Swiss Browns hold their shape better because they hold less water than white varieties. To prepare them, wipe them down with a damp cloth rather than peel them. There is lots of flavour and goodness in that skin! Fresh, crisp celery is also great value this week at only $1.29 each. It’s perfect for winter soups and stews! We have creamy rich ricotta on special at $7.99 per/kg. Perfect for those winter comfort food bakes. And 1kg bags of carrots are still at $1.00 per/bag. Green kiwi fruit is fantastic this week. Look for fragrant, firm, but tender fruit. That’s when they’re best to eat. They sweeten as they ripen. If you do find a kiwi that’s a little firm and are impatient to eat it, put it in a paper bag and store it at room temperature, it will ripen quickly. If you like a sweeter kiwi, go for gold this week; their sweetness is lovely. Do you know you can also eat its skin? Some people do, some people don’t. Even in our store, we have staff who eat it and staff who don’t!
